Home-based Super Eagles coach Salisu Yusuf hopes his side will keep improving after they booked their place in the final of the Nigeria Professional Football League invitational tournament following a 1-0 win against Enyimba, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Eagles put up a fine performance in the game dominating from start to finish with Sunday Faleye grabbing the winning goal in the 56th minute.
“We are happy with the outcome of the game but obviously we are not at the level wanted yet,” Yusuf stated after the game.
“The performance was better than in the first game against Plateau United but we have to keep working hard until we achieve our objective which is winning the CHAN.
“We have another game which is the final on Sunday to ascertain how ready we are and perfect our strategy for the competition.
“In the first game, we adopted a 3-5-2 formation and today we switched back to 4-3-3 and it worked well for us.”
The former Kano Pillars coach reserved special praise for Faleye and Rivers United winger Emeka Ogbhu for their excellent performances in the game.
“Faleye and Ogbhu did well for us in the game and I want to give a big kudos to them. It will be good for us to maintain this level of performance in subsequent games or even better it.”
Yusuf also confirmed the invitation of Plateau United forward Tosin Omoyele to the team.
Omoyele who scored 15 goals for Osun United in the Nigeria National League last season has impressed in the competition for the NPFL champions and will now have the chance to fight for a place in the CHAN team.
“We have pencilled down the name of three to four players that will join us after CHAN. One of them is Tosin Omoyele, the striker with Plateau United.
“We will drop some players after the competition and others that we have pencilled down will join us.”
