AfricanFootballers in tonight’s UEFA Champions League action

The continent’s top players set to feature in Matchday 1 action of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, 12 September.

At Old Trafford, Eric Bailly is set to come up against Ivorian compatriot Serey Die in the meeting of Manchester United and Basel in Group A, while Nigerian Victor Moses will feature for Chelsea at home to Azerbaijan side Qarabag, whose attack is likely to feature South African striker Dino Ndlovu.

Senegalese defender Kara Mbodji will have his skills tested when Anderlecht take on Bayern Munich in Germany, while Thomas Partey will look to take his fine form for Ghana to the European stage when Atletico Madrid head to Italy to take on Roma.

The meeting of Olympiakos and Sporting in Athens is likely to see Emmanuel Emenike and Seydou Doumbia lead their respective team’s attack, while Juventus can call on Medhi Benatia and Kwadwo Asamoah for their testing clash at the Camp Nou against Barcelona.
